A large Tiger mounted by Rowland Ward in large glass case.
The tiger is the largest cat species, most recognisable for their pattern of dark vertical stripes on reddish-orange fur with a lighter underside. Bengal tigers are the national animal of both India and Bangladesh.

James Rowland Ward (1848–1912) was a world famous British taxidermist and founder of the firm Rowland Ward Limited of Piccadilly, London. The company specialised in and was renowned for its taxidermy work on birds and big-game trophies.

 

Condition:

Overall good antique condition, the colours have remained very vibrant.
The case bears the taxidermist’s labels.

Laws:

Tigers and all subspecies are protected under CITES Appendix 1 Annex A.
This piece is a “worked” item, produced before 1947 and therefore does not require a license to be sold within the UK.
