The giant clam, known as pā’ua in Cook Islands Māori, is the largest living mollusk. Legends say that the largest of these clams were “man eating” and the US Navy Diving manual even gave detailed instructions for releasing oneself from its grasp by severing the adductor muscles used to close its shell.

Condition:

Good antique condition.

The mouse is being used to show the monstrous scale of this clam shell and is not included in the sale.

Giant Clams are protected under CITES Appendix II Annex B.
This piece does not require a license to be sold within the EU.
